Description
A few weeks postpartum, after getting out of hospital (after a horrendous near death experience and appalling treatment), I was feeling well enough to go in my basement studio and get back to being creative. I always took my daughter with me into the studio, or I didn’t get to work. I’d mix on headphones and she seemed to like being in there. Although I was in an undesirable living situation, I vowed things would not be this way forever.
And so I wrote ‘Stand Up’ for the me I was and would be again, and for anyone else struggling through something without a support system. Because even if you have a support system, ultimately, your own voice is your biggest cheerleader or bully.
